Behind the Wheel: Why I'm Hitting the Track with E&V in 2026

If you saw our recent announcement, you know that I am officially bringing my passion for motorsports to life! After some incredible support and collaboration with Engel & Völkers Americas, I am thrilled to be self-funding and driving the #77 Engel & Völkers racing machine this season.

If you aren't a die-hard racing fan, you might be wondering: What exactly am I racing, and why? Here is a look under the hood at this exciting new chapter.

What is the Mid-Atlantic Road Racing Series (MARRS)? The Mid-Atlantic Road Racing Series (MARRS) is the premier regional club racing championship hosted by the Washington DC Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). It is a highly competitive, fast-paced series that travels to legendary tracks in our region, including Summit Point Motorsports Park, Virginia International Raceway (VIR), and New Jersey Motorsports Park. It represents the absolute pinnacle of regional, wheel-to-wheel racing.

The #77 Machine: Showroom Spec Miata (SSM) I will be competing in the Showroom Spec Miata (SSM) class. If you know anything about grassroots racing, you know that Spec Miata is legendary. I aquired my racing license last year and have been competing in this group since.

SSM is designed to be one of the most intensely competitive classes on the track. The rules are strict: cars must remain incredibly close to their original factory, "showroom" condition with highly regulated specifications for horsepower, weight, and suspension.

• Why this matters: Because the cars are virtually identical in performance, you cannot simply buy your way to the front of the pack with a faster engine. Winning in SSM comes down entirely to strategy, precision, and pure driver skill. It regularly boasts the highest number of entries per race, meaning I will be fighting in massive, action-packed fields all season long.

The Motorsports Renaissance I am getting out on the track at the perfect time. Motorsports are experiencing a massive boom in the United States. Thanks to the "Drive to Survive" effect, Formula 1 recently recorded its most-watched U.S. season ever, and domestic series are seeing major viewership growth.

But the real magic is happening at the local level. Grassroots and amateur racing are seeing explosive growth, with the global motorsports market projected to grow by nearly 14% annually over the next few years. Fans and drivers are flocking to regional series like MARRS because of the incredible access, the affordability, and the tight-knit community feel that you just cannot get at a massive Grand Prix.
